Hans Christian Andersen - House of fairytales.
The open ideas competition concerning a Hans Christian Andersen
House of Fairytales in Odense was launched by Odense City Museums in
collaboration with the City of Odense on 3 September 2013.
The competition is funded by the Realdania Foundation.
This competition brief was prepared by Odense City Museums in
consultation with Dansk Bygningsarv (built heritage consultancy)
and the Competition Unit of the Danish Architects’ Association.
This work consists in representing the essence of a fairy tale by Hans Christan Andersen pointing toward soft form evoking the urban concrete utopias in the real world that characterized their work while respecting the scale and emphasizing the city to different visual landmarks and landmarks of the city and integrating to it.
There is also a search on the sensory manifested in wow factor at the use of light color, texture and material using also water as the protagonist.
The museum consists of a large outstanding volume which contains a ramp that go tour completely inside which is accessed through a tunnel under the lake.
Also consists of reading rooms flexible, semi buried with his concrete mesh that sift connection with the outside.
